The subject that I would like to discuss today is about how people use social media just to whine about everything. Don’t get me wrong if someone occasionally writes or posts something about someone or something that pissed them off I have no problem reading that. My problem is that most people will just sit and complain and post comments and statuses all day long about little thing that shouldn’t bother a person. When I see this it starts to get me very angry because people go on to Facebook and twitter to stay connected with you by being updated and informed on events in your life like nights out on the town which people can see your pictures of. But people abuse this and just post crap on their wall. Every has seen a person go through all their friends on Facebook and delete people who they can’t stand seeing their constantly depressing and negative statuses and with twitter it turns into a none stop barrage of negative reinforcement of how bad life is and no one wants to deal with that. So what I’m saying is people please do not constantly throw up stupid statuses that I will instantly want to unfollow you for seeing. If you want to tell me that you had a bad day go ahead and post it but don’t sit there and post one comment after another trying to get sympathy.

Is Twitter A Reliable News Source
Ever since last semester I have begun to think about twitter in a different light. It all started one day when I was sitting in class and I refreshed my twitter on my phone and at the top of was a tweet from @DRUNKHULK which is a twitter that portrays what the Marvel super hero would say if he was drunk 24/7. The tweet he wrote was GADDAFI DEAD! NO COOL! DRUNK HULK JUST FIGURE OUT HOW SPELL HIS NAME!” I then went to a computer after class and went to a real news site and sure enough the head line was Gaddafi dead. My first thought was that I couldn't believe that I learned about world wide news from a satire account. Then i started to think about how cool it was that we are now able to pass along important world news to the masses. Using twitter allows for news to reach a even larger audience that would never have bothered to turn on a TV or radio to find out what is going on in the world. The best bet is for people to follow real news channels so they can stay informed on major issues in the world. That way even the casual follower will not be completely in the dark on world events. The big surprise to me was that thousands of people found out about Gaddafi death the same way and most people felt the same way that I did that we should be finding out major news from a comedy account. What It comes down to we can use twitter to inform the masses but we need to make sure we are hearing it from trust worthy sources that are credible.
